Connect to VPN before Logging into Windows (Win 7)

This information will guide you through the process on how to connect to the VPN before logging into Windows on a Windows 7 computer.  This is helpful when you need to change your password and the network is not available or if you are requesting help from a technician and they need you to be on the network to communicate.

1.  After your computer has booted up you will see your standard log in page as shown below.

After pressing the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys you will be prompted as usual to enter your password.  Instead of entering your password choose the Switch User option below it.

Now at the bottom right hand corner of the screen you will see a new icon next to the power options.  Click here to show the VPN login screen.

Next the option to log in to VPN will be shown and you can log in to VPN using your regular windows password as usual.

Log in is First Name period Last Name and the password you log into your computer with every day.

To confirm that you have logged in successfully you will see the below message and the option to accept.  Congratulations you are now logged into VPN.

The final step is to log into windows as you regularly would.
